While some have celebrated the legalization of recreational marijuana, it also has revealed a deep divide along racial and class lines. So far, nearly all the dispensary owners are white. Meanwhile, African Americans and Latinos, who for years were stigmatized and arrested at disproportionate rates for using the drug, so far have not managed to significantly break through the ranks of dispensary ownership.
